Today I had an interaction online which finally lead to me creating this website. It is meant to be a small space which is less serious compared to my portfolio site, which I can use to share random thoughts and dump things out there.

While browsing Elles's website, which is one of my favorite websites, I saw a funny character move across the screen. Seems like it's a live chat feature, and I had randomly stumbled across another person browsing her website! We had a little chat, exchanged websites and went on with our days, but this spontaneous interaction felt extremely exciting for some reason.

After all, the platforms that we know as social media today might not be so social. Most of the time on these websites, I mindlessly consume content instead of interacting with people. The experience I had today showed me how a decentralized web can create these spontaeous, very genuine experiences that I haven't felt in a while online.

What's next?

Now the only problem which remains is, I'm not quite sure how to go about designing this website. I have a million concepts in mind about how I would like to design a website to have more personality, but none of them really resonates with me so far, or are out of reach because I am terrible at creating art (I really wish I knew how to make some basic pixel art).

For now, I'll just start posting things here and interact with other folks who have websites, and see how that develops. Maybe one day this website can evolve into something I'm proud of.

Shoutouts

Shoutout to Elle for having such a great website and being my entrypoint to this world of small personal websites:

Shoutout to Adams for finally making me pull the trigger on making a personal website which is not just a "serious" portfolio type site.
